Malakkara is located in Pathanamthitta District of Kerala. It lies on the banks of the river Pampa and is about 5 km from Chengannur.

Malakkara Vishnu Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is the main attraction here. Malakkara Boat Race is an annual event held here.

Chengannur Railway Station is the nearest major railhead.
