Makrana




Situated at an altitude of 1338 ft above sea level, Makrana is a town located in Nagaur District of Rajasthan. It is about 21 km north of Parbatsar and 67 km from Ajmer.

Makrana has one of the world’s most famous marble deposits. The place is famous with hundreds of marble quarries, modern slab/tile processing and stone craft units. Makrana White is used in Taj Mahal. Sambhar Lake is a local excursion from here.

Borawar (5 km) in the south, Mandana (15 km) in the west, Bursu (11 km) in the north, and Jusri (5 km) in the east are the neighboring towns.

Makrana Junction Railway Station, managed by the North Western Railways, falls on the Jodhpur-Jaipur rail route. Makrana is connected by road network from Jaipur (122 km).
