Majjige Huli is one of the typical dishes of
Karnataka, which is also popular in parts of
Tamil Nadu and
Andhra Pradesh. It is a vegetable dish with dal and vegetables cooked in a buttermilk base. Typically served in weddings and other functions, it is a simple, tasty, low fat, semi liquid, dish commonly mixed and eaten with rice. It is similar to 'kadhi' of
Maharashtra and
Gujarat.
