Majar Sharif is situated on Jaleswar-Katarihara road in
Assam and is 60 km from
Goalpara.
Dedicated to the Sufi Saint, Shah Sayed Nasiruddin Kaderi, it is commonly known as Bagdadi. The tomb on the grave of the Sufi Saint is a unique replication of
Mughal architecture, built in the style of the Taj Mahal. The interiors are beautifully decorated by Arabic Calligraphy. Urs Mubarak, the death anniversary of the Sufi Saint, is the festival celebrated here, which falls on the 8th day of Magh month (January-February).
