Maindargi lies 11 km south-east of Akalkot and about 50 km from Solapur, the district headquarters of Solapur District. Dudhani, on the district's border with Gulbarga District of Karnataka, is around 15 km further south-east.
Gulbarga Fort and the tombs of the Bahamani rulers at Gulbarga and the ashrams of Swami Akalkot at Akalkot are tourist places within easy access from Maindargi.
