Also spelt Mahrauni, Mahroni is a prominent town and one of the three taluks of Lalitpur District. It lies to the east of Lalitpur and 20 km from Tikamgarh. Banpur and Chhilla are almost equidistant from here.
Madanpur, a historic town south of Mahroni, has numerous ruins reminiscent of the Chandela Dynasty and a beautiful Vishnu Temple. Deogarh can be accessed from here via Birdha.
