Mahimapura

Located on the National Highway 4, Mahimapura is a small pristine village in Bangalore Rural District of Karnataka. Mahimapura, an ideal place for picnic, is flanked by a wooded hillock on one side and lush green fields on the other side.

This is the only place where Lord Garuda is worshipped. It is said that Garuda performed penance at this place.

Lord Ranganathaswamy temple of Chola style on the top of the hill is the main attraction of this village. A flight of nearly 300 steps leads to this small temple. At the foot of the hill, there is a temple with a monolithic idol of Lord Hanuman standing 12-feet tall.

Mahimapura is only 1.5 km from National Highway 4 (Bangalore-Tumkur Road). Direct buses are available from Bangalore.
