Mahavira Jain Temple

Mahavir Temple is an ancient Jain temple located in Jodhpur, the second largest city in Rajasthan. Jodhpur is about 65 km south-east of Osiyan.

Built in the 8th century and renovated in the 10th century, the temple consists of a sanctum which is enclosed by an ambulatory, a vestibule and porch. The mandapam of the temple has a pyramidal roof. The ornamental gateway of the temple was built in the year 1016. The shikhara of the temple is a group of 3 rows of turrets, which displays the developed, medieval style of Rajasthan.

The four temples, situated on either side of the main temple, are dedicated to eight of the 24 tirthankar.
