Maharogi Sewa Samiti, based in
Chandrapur District of
Maharashtra, has been working for the rehabilitation of leprosy afflicted persons for the last 51 years. Its main objective is to restore the self-confidence and self respect of the inmates. Training and treatments are given to make them productive, self-sufficient and dignified members of the society. The samiti also takes care of physically challenged people, senior citizens and orphans.
The samiti runs a leprosy hospital, colleges, a school for visually handicapped, a school for hearing and speech impaired and a cultural center. The Maharogi Sewa Samiti has five branches in various parts of Maharashtra.
