Mahagunas Pass is situated at an altitude of about 4,600 m in the
Srinagar District of
Jammu and Kashmir. The pass is an ideal base for trekking and is the highest point in the
Amarnath Yatra. There is a trekking route from
Pahalgam to Amarnath Cave via Mahagunas Pass. The pass ascends from Sheshnag and descends to the meadow lands of
Panchtarni. The area is full of small streams, water falls and springs.
