Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) is a registered non-profit, non-governmental, non-sectarian charitable institution dedicated to the welfare of humanity, situated at
Leh in
Jammu and Kashmir. Established in 1986 by Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghasena, the center offers spiritual instructions and humanitarian services to the desperately needed people in the remote area of
Ladakh.
The center organizes numerous residential, non-residential and long or short-term meditation courses at the main center - Devachan campus, and at the Leh sub-center. Ten-day
Vipassana Meditation Courses are conducted every year.
The Dhammapada Museum situated in the center has about 423 instructive paintings describing each verse uttered by Lord Buddha. A large collection of Buddhist paintings and cultural items are preserved in the center. The Prince Mahidol Library in the meditation center has a vast collection of books on various aspects of Buddhism, philosophy and information interesting to the general readers and students.
The Right Livelihood Complex of the Devachan campus features a tea stall, Samadhi bookshop, Parami store and other basic requirement including STD/ISD, fax and internet facilities.
The center also intakes volunteer teachers every year to teach yoga classes and to assist Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghasena.
