Lumbini Park

Located on the shore of Hussain Sagar Lake is the Lumbini Park, developed by the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA). It is spread over 4 acres of land about 3 km away from Hyderabad. Named after the birth place of Buddha, the park is excellently designed with abundant vegetation in all directions. It is artistically decorated by seasonal flowering plants, rocks, pebbles and cacti. A large floral clock, rich in brightly colored flowers of different shades, welcomes the visitors at the main entrance. The important feature of the park is the musical dancing fountains that dance to various tunes. Musical Fountain shows are conducted every evening at 18:30 hrs and 20:00 hrs. The park has swings and slides to entertain the children. It also has facilities for boating. The park is open from 09:00 to 21:00 hrs and remains closed on Mondays. Hyderabad Deccan Railway Station is the convenient railhead and Hyderabad Airport is the nearest airport.
