Limbu

Residing in the state of Sikkim, Limbu is a branch of the Kirati tribe. Their habits are similar to those of the Lepchas. The tribe is divided into two moieties, Lhasa gotra and Kashi gotra. Limbus speak Limbu Kura language. They maintain matrimonial relationships with other tribes such as Khambas and Lepchas. The Limbu conduct religious ceremonies and have their own priests known as 'Phedangba.' Marriages are often conducted without the consent of the parents.
