Legge Memorial is situated near the
Bamani Dhaur, on a small meadow close to the
Valley of Flowers in
Chamoli District. It is the grave of Joan Margaret Legge, the princess of England who was deputed by Edinburgh's Royal Botanic Garden to spend a few months in the Valley. On 4th July, 1938, while she was on the way towards the slopes of
Khulia Garva, slipped and fell to her death. On the request of her sister, her body was buried in the valley.
