Lankeswari Temple is a delightful shrine located in
Sonpur,
Orissa. The temple is on a hillock in the
Mahanadi River. The presiding deity is Lankeswari and the worshippers are mainly from Kaivarta community.
There is a deep gorge near the hill rock in Mahanadi which is called Lankeswari Darha. From the temple one can have a picturesque view of the river and the town.
Balangir Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
