Langha Forest




Langha forest is about 40 km north - west of Dehradun. It is located on the Chakrata road. It lies at the base of the Bhadraj Peak (2,400 m) in the Dehradun Valley. Bhadraj Temple is located on a hill top here. One has to trek on foot to reach the temple. Yamuna Bridge is located about 11 km from here. The region is covered by sal (shorea robusta), pine, oak trees and meadows. This area which offers enchanting views of the Doon Valley and Chakrata ranges, is an ideal spot for bird-watchers, nature lovers and trekkers.

Nearby interesting destinations are Sahaspur, Pastai, Pipalsar and Jhajra. Forest Rest House is available. Best time to trek is in early winter or early spring.

The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport. The nearest railway station is at Dehradun. Langha Forest can be accessed by road from Mussoorie.
