Lale Falls is located near Garampani in
Jaintia Hills District of
Meghalaya. This 60 ft high fall is on the turbulent Kopili River, which makes a star-shaped gorge to give rise to the well-known Lale.
The beauty of the Lale Falls is hidden for most part of the year as the Khandong Reservoir of the Kopili Hydro Electric Project has inundated the natural fall. It cannot be seen when the reservoir is fairly full.
By road, Lale Falls can be approached from Shillong as well as from Lanka, which is 80 km north. The nearest railhead is Lanka Railway Station.
