Lal Ded, popularly known as Granny Lalla or Lalleswari, was a Kashmiri saint-poetess of the 14th century. She found her guru in Sidh Srikanth, whom she ultimately excelled in spiritual attainment. She is credited with the composition of Vakhs, an old Kashmiri verse form. Her writings displayed the culture and attitudes of the Kashmiri people. Lalla was an ardent devotee of
lord Shiva.
