Lakshmi Narasimha Temple is located at
Singarayakonda in
Prakasam District of
Andhra Pradesh. This temple belongs to the 15th century is dedicated to
Narasimha, an incarnation of
Lord Vishnu.
Lakshmi Narasimha Temple was a major religious center during the reign of king Krishnadevaraya. The temple preserves several inscriptions of which the one that dates back to 1449-50 AD tells that the plastering of the temple was done by Bandari Setti and Kuni Setti. There is an idol of Lord Hanuman which was presented by Dontayya in 1528.
Lakshmi Narasimha Temple can be easily approached from Kandukur (14 km), Ongole (29 km) and Kanigiri (64 km). Singarayakonda Railway Station, on the South Central Railways Nellore-Ongole railway line, is the nearest railhead.
