Lakshmi Narasimha Temple is situated at a height of 300 feet on a hill at
Yadagirigutta in
Nalgonda District. It enshrines the idol of Lakshmi Narasimha, the incarnation of
Lord Vishnu. The sanctum of this temple is a natural cavern in which Jwala Narasimha, Ghandabheranda Narasimha (without an image) and Yoga Narasimha are worshipped. The temple also houses a shrine dedicated to Aandaalamma.
Two particular rock formations in the wall of the sanctum cave are revered as Jwala Narasimha and Yoga Narasimha respectively. The image of Jwala Narasimha resembles that of a serpent, while the Yoga Narasimha image shows Narasimha seated in meditation. A gap in the rock at the entrance of the temple is said to represent Ghandabheranda Narasimha.
It is believed that worshipping here for a period of 40 days would relieve the devotees of incurable diseases.
