Lakshman Ganga River




Lakshman Ganga River originates at the glaciers of Hemkund in Chamoli District of Uttaranchal. At Hemkund, it is known as Hemganga or Bhyunder. It merges with Pushpawati River at Ghangharia and from this place onwards the river is called Lakshman Ganga. It merges with Alaknanda River at Govind Ghat. Lakshman Temple, dedicated to Lakshman, stands on the banks of this river.
