Lakar Mandi is an important stopover on the
Dalhousie-
Chamba road through
Khajjiar, in
Himachal Pradesh.
The Dhogri tribal people of
Kangra valley live here. They earn their living by making and selling charcoal. There are a few country stores and tea stalls, which offer fresh cottage cheese and other things that taste good.
From Lakar Mandi, there is a path which goes toward Kalatop and another uphill track which leads to Dainkund.
