Lady Wilson Museum, established in 1928, is situated at
Dharampur, in
Valsad District of
Gujarat. The museum was built by King Vijaydevji, on his accession to kingdom in 1921. The museum has sections on various subjects such as anthropology, tribes, toys, industrial, arts and music.
The exhibit includes tribal art and culture of Gujarat, classical tribal musical instruments, dolls from various countries, and art and industrial art from India and abroad. Miniature paintings of Pahari style depicting various musical compositions - Indian classical 'ragas' – is the most noteworthy among the exhibit. Specimens of stuffed wild animals are showcased at zoology and geology sections.
Lady Wilson Museum is open from 10:15 to 17:15 on all days except Wednesday.
