Kurutholayattam, the second day festival of
Sarkara Kaliyoot, is performed as a part of the ritual in
Sarkara Devi Temple. It is celebrated to show that the early farmers attached great importance to worship and rituals.
Kurutholayattam explains the secrets regarding the creation of the universe, the history of the origin of the earth, sky, water and such other aspects.
Goddess Kali is made happy by reciting the lines of the Kalasappattu on the night before Theyyam. The worshippers wearing tender coconut leaves on their wrists dance and sing in bliss. There are no definite steps for this dance.
