Kuno River




Kuno River, the main tributary of Chambal River, passes through Sheopur District of Madhya Pradesh. The famous Kuno Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the western banks of this river.

Kuno River is perennial in nature and bisects the sanctuary from north to south. The river itself occupies an area of about 6 sq km in the sanctuary. A number of small rivers like Kudikheda, Lankakhoh, Durredi and Aamkhoh join Kuno at various sites.
