Dotted with several temples of architectural splendor, Kundrathur is located on the outskirts of
Chennai. It is also the birthplace of Sekkizhar, a great Tamil poet.
The famous Murugan temple at Kundrathur sits atop a hill and was constructed during the Chola period. The 800-year-old Nageshwar temple with 46 stone inscriptions is another magnificent shrine located here.
Kundrathur is 8 km west of Pallavaram, 10 km south of Porur, 8 km south-east of Poonamallee, 8 km north-west of Tambaram. Chennai Egmore Railway Station is 23 km away.
