Kuka Fair is a local fair celebrated by the people of
Malerkotla in
Sangrur District of
Punjab. It is observed every year for two days on January 17 and 18 commemorating the martyrdom of 66 Namdharis. These Namdharis were shot dead by British on the 17 and 18 January in 1872 during the anti-cow slaughter movement. Kuka Fair is otherwise called Kukas' Martyrdom Day.
