Krishna-Raya Temple is located at
Kanchrapara in
North 24 Parganas District of
West Bengal. Kanchrapara is 60 km north of
Kolkata. The temple is dedicated to
Lord Krishna. Built in 1785, this temple has a very large 'at-chala' (literally meaning eight spires} with a porch on triple entrance. The at-chala is a superstructure duplicated by the char-chala, one above the other. The char-chala architecture has a sloped roof on all the four sides and the top is a pointed structure if the base is square and a ridge if rectangular.
Krishna-Raya Temple can be easily accessed from Kolkata by road. The nearest railhead is
Kanchrapara Railway Station.
