Situated on the banks of the
Pamba, Kovilkadavu is a scenic village with great archeological importance. It is about 5 km from
Marayoor in
Idukki District.
There are dozens of dolmens and rock paintings on the south-western slope of the plateau overlooking the river. Kovilkadavu also has an old Shiva Temple and a mosque.
