Kottiyoor Festival is an annual event celebrated in association with the Kottiyoor Temples, two famous Shiva temples in
Kannur District of
Kerala. This 27-days long festival partakes in part of the nature of Vela and Pooram. It begins with Neyyattam on the Swati Day in
Edavam (May-June) and concludes with Thirukalasattu. Neyyattam and Elannerattam are the special ceremonies connected with the festival.
The two temples, namely the Akkara Kottiyoor and the Ikkara Kottiyoor, are located at Kottiyoor, 60 km south-east of Kannur.
