Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala is an internationally renowned indigenous medical center in
Kerala. Founded in 1902 by Vaidyaratnam P S Varier, perhaps the center is the largest and the most trusted of its kind in India. It offers authentic ayurvedic medicines and treatment to patients from all over India and abroad.
The center offers treatments such as njavarakizhi, pizhichil, ilakizhi, sirovasti, thakra dhara, kashyavasthi and Vamanam. The Arya Vaidya Sala has its own cultivation of medicinal plants, medicine manufacturing units, as well as a research and publication wing. It has initiated extensive work on Ayurveda and related subjects, and runs a Kathakali Academy. It has a branch at Karkardhooma in Delhi.
Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala is located at Kottakkal, 46 km north of Kozhikode. Kozhikode Railway Station is the nearest major railhead.
