Kothad Island




Surrounded by the Vembanad Lake, Kothad is one of the fourteen islands in the Periyar river basin. It is 10 km from Ernakulam. Historical evidences reveal that this island was formed as a result of a great flood in the 1340’s.

The nearest airport is at a distance of 27 km at Nedumbassery. The convenient railheads are Ernakulam Junction Railway Station and Ernakulam Town Railway Station. Ferry services are available from Highcourt Jetty to Chittoor Boat Jetty.
