Kota Open University, established in 1987, has its headquarters in
Kota. This is a State University whose jurisdiction extends over the whole of
Rajasthan.
The university has about six 6 regional centers at Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota and Udaipur and 24 study centers, in addition to a special center at New Delhi. It encourages the development of research-both general and inter-disciplinary, particularly through distance registered candidates for doctoral degrees and also experts for supervisorship. Degree, diploma and certificate courses are offered.
