Korzok is a picturesque village, situated on the south-west bank of Tso Morari Lake, in
Leh District,
Jammu and Kashmir. Korzok Village is situated about 240 km south-east of
Leh.
Perched at an altitude of 4530 m above sea level, this is the only settlement near the lake. The village mostly consists of one storied stone buildings, many with a solar panel on its roof.
Major point of attraction here is the gompa, built in 1850, after replacing the one destroyed in Dogra invasion. A beautiful residence of a lama can be seen on the lakeshore. Camping facilities are available down the hill from the monastery located here.
