Korlai Fort is located in
Raigad District of
Maharashtra. It lies at
Korlai village and is in a ruined state.
The fort was constructed by Burhan Nizamshah II and was once the strong hold of the Portuguese. The fort is surrounded on three sides by the Arabian Sea and there is a tomb of Babaswami at the foothills. The fort has images of lion and eagle inscribed on the stone wall at the entrance gate. Its towers are massively built and are named after the deities in Hinduism.
