The men belonging to the Konyak tribe of
Nagaland have a tradition of wearing tight belts around their waist. This belt is worn by a man once he reaches adulthood. Once worn this belt is not removed until his death.
The belt is made of half splits of cane looped about 7 to 8 times around the waist. With the passage of time, it attains a golden yellow coloration due to the constant contact with the body and body oils.
