Konkani




Konkani, an Indo-Aryan language, is used widely in the Konkan region consisting of Goa, south coastal Maharashtra and coastal Karnataka. It is the official language of Goa. The language uses Devanagari and Roman scripts. In 1651, Friar Thomas Steven wrote 'Doctrina Christi' which is the first known work in Konkani.
