Kolayat is a sacred spot, which is situated about 50 km from
Bikaner. There is a temple here, which is dedicated to
Kapila Muni. Sage Kapila is said to have done tapasya here for redeeming mankind. It is here, where the fair in the month of Kartik (Oct-Nov) takes place. The Kapil Muni fair is the largest fair held in
Bikaner District. The fair draws many pilgrims. A cattle fair is held in connection with the Kapil Muni Fair.
There is a lake here with 52 ghats and banyan trees around it. The temple dedicated to sage Kapila has a marble statue of the saint enshrined in it.
