Kolata (Stick Dance) is a folk dance form of
Karnataka. It is a type of battle dance performed in groups.
The dancers jump, bend, and sway the sticks in accordance with the music. The songs of Kolata includes romantic and battle themes. Usually the dance is performed by the members of Vokkaliga, Nayaka, and Golla communities.
