The Koireng tribe of
Manipur has its own traditional dance to boast of, popularly called Koireng Dance. This particular dance is a major event in all their festive occasions. The dancers attire themselves in beautiful traditional outfits, which befits the occasion.
Koireng Dance, noted for its beauty, involves two groups of performers. Initially the two groups lineup facing each other. Then they move toward each other and crossover. Following the crisscrossing, the dancers get into separate circular formations and dancing thus again get into their original linear fashion. The overall movement of the dance consists of a variety of formations.
