Kodikaeswarar Temple is located at Tirukkodikka near
Kumbakonam. This Shiva temple has a five tiered Rajagopuram and two
prakarams. Spread in an area of 3.5 acres, the temple has images of Vinayakar, Agastyar, Dakshinamurthy, Lingodbhavar, Bhrama, Durga,
Bhikshatana and Ardhanareeswarar. It also holds the inscriptions from the periods of
Pallavas,
Cholas and
Pandyas. The temple was rebuilt by Sembiyan Mahadevi in the 10th century.
