Kodaikanal Club is situated on the road to pillar rocks, about 6 km from the
Kodai Lake in
Kodaikanal. Started in 1887 by British and American settlers, the club offers recreational facilities such as tennis, badminton, billiards, table tennis and cards. The club has 14 chambers, and a dining hall providing meals. The club library boasts a large collection of books.
Visitors can become temporary members on introduction by permit members. No shorts or half sleeved shirts are allowed. Slippers, sandals or regional dress are not permitted at any time.
The exclusive Kodai Golf Club is near the Green Valley View. Spread over 143 acres, it offers an 18-hole, 6426 yards course. Golf lessons are provided. Non-members and holiday golfers are allowed to play after paying a special subscription. Competitions take place throughout the year. Major events are held in April, May and January.
