Kizhur Sastha Temple is an ancient shrine at
Chandragiri, 10 km north of
Bekal in
Kasargod District. It is dedicated to Lord Sastha (
Lord Ayyappa).
Pattu Utsavam is the famous festival celebrated here. On this occasion, troupes of professional singers sing jointly in praise of the greatness of the deity. The dignitaries of all the Kazhakams of Saliyas from Pathinalu Nagaram, (from Pattuvam to Panamboor (Mangalore)) gather here on the second Saturday of Vrischikam (November-December).
Chandragiri Fort (a small 17th century fort) and a mosque are nearby.
