Kishangarh is located in
Ajmer District of
Rajasthan. It is around 20 km northeast of
Ajmer.
It was the erstwhile capital of a princely state ruled by the Rathores and is renowned for its rich tradition in arts and crafts. The famous Bani Thani paintings bear the signature of this cultural town. Kishangarh is also well known for its marble products. Although the old city has the flavor of the magical world created by the artists; the modern city is a bustling commercial center better known for its wholesale market of red chilies and cotton-weaving.
Kishangarh Railway Station is on the on the Jaipur - Ajmer rail route. Sanganer Airport is the nearest airport. National Highway 8 has its route through Kishangarh.
