Kipling and Co, located at
Besant Nagar, in
Chennai, showcases colonial classic furniture and interesting antiques from all over the country. It was established to make Indian heritage furniture available to all. The shop features both old furniture and reproductions made from old wood. The furniture reproductions are mainly focused on the export market and viewed mainly from a historical perspective and the view of craftsmanship.
There is a library-cum-bookshop on the first floor which houses antiquarian books, reprints of old classics and coffee table books. The shop also offers small gift items which ranges from ceramics to glass to wrought iron, both old and new.
