Kinema Curry is a main side-dish consumed by most of the inhabitants of the
Darjeeling hills of
West Bengal and
Sikkim in India. Kinema or fermented soybeans are usually deep-fried or pan-fried in small patties with onions, tomatoes and turmeric powder and then salted and served as meat substitute along with cooked rice in meals. This inexpensive dish is rich in protein.
