Kilim is a traditional rug made in
Rajasthan. Its origin can be traced to Turkey and Persia and it was brought to India by the Muslim rulers. The word ‘kilim’ is Turkish, meaning ‘flat woven rug’.
The weaving technique employs two beams used as frame on which the rugs are made. Due the fine art work, Kilim can be used as a drape apart from its usual use as a floor covering.
