Khuthonye is celebrated by the Chakhesang community in
Phek District of
Nagaland during July after completion of harvest. During the festival people eat and drink merrily to regain the lost energies and to forget the hardships of farming. The festival falls during the harvesting of millet, therefore Chunye festival (millet festival) is also celebrated along with Khuthonye festival.
