Khudai is a style of metal engraving practiced in
Moradabad District of
Uttar Pradesh. It is primarily used for decorating brass articles.
The patterns are engraved on the unpolished surface by striking a pointed steel tool on it. A flat metal stick called ‘thabbi,’ is used for providing the necessary strokes. The grooves are then filled with color or enamel to give the final touch.
