Khongjom

A town in Manipur



Khongjom is a place of historical importance on the Indo-Burma road, 36 km from Imphal,. It was here Major General Paona Brajabashi, a greate warrior of Manipur, attacked the British army in 1891 and attained martyrdom. There is a war memorial here which attracts visitors. The Khongjom Day is observed annually on April 23.
